1st Anniversary of Fashionypk’s Summer Internship program

One this day (July 3rd) an year ago, fashiony.pk started its first Summer internship program that was 80 days long and served 15 interns (approx.) from various universities of Pakistan including Punjab University College of IT (PUCIT), UET , University of Lahore, Comsats, Education University, Lahore Garrison University  and others.

Internship program announcement got a huge response on social media and various job websites. PUCIT, NAMAL and others encouraged their graduates and undergraduates to apply for the program. HR department of fashiony received 500+ applications for this program and top 25 were shortlisted to be interviewed by technical team on July 01, 2017.  As per fashiony’s vision, we believe to invest in people. We choose to hire for attitude & eagerness to learn and then teach skills.

15 interns started their training under leadership of CTO fashiony and started learning by working with technical team and by working with each other in an enabling environment.  Interns belonged to 4 groups

•         Web Development
•         Web Design
•         CMS Development
•         Digital Marketing

A usual day at internship program included 6 hours of working consisting of soft skills training by CEO fashiony and his mates, technical assignments from tech team, pair programming, brainstorming and productive discussions among peers, presentations of innovative ideas of interns, code review & optimization techniques and some refreshing activity.  Interns started enjoying the simple, friendly and enabling environment and within days we became like we belong to a family – fashiony family.

We invited industry leaders in respective fields to inspire our interns and to let them think big, think out of the box and think #AheadOfTime.  We had a series of lectures arranged at fashiony place and also some other places like Alhamra, and hybercafe DHA.

•         Ma’am Afsheen Husnain (Google certified Digital marketer) gave a lecture on how digital marketing works and how one can get benefited from it.
•         Mr. Tahseen (Flying officer PAF) gave a motivational lecture and told how to work on personality development and soft skills.
•         Prof. Akhtar Rafiq gave a lecture on role on ecommerce and growth hacking
•         Faisal Butt – CEO kodingo told students about essential of freelancing
•         Ali Ahmad – CEO euphoria inspired interns to become an entrepreneur and told them basics of leadership
•         Mr. Waqas Khan Pitafi – CEO devBatch in an extensive session answered all the queries of interns about IT industry and shared his entrepreneurial journey to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs.

On 14th August, 2017 we celebrated Pakistan Independence Day at fashiony with great zeal. Interns participated in singing, speech, quiz and informative video session to enhance their knowledge about their motherland. The event was graced by CEO Fashiony – Hamid Saeed and CEO euphoria – Ali Ahmed. Both these folks emphasized upon developing leadership skills among students and requested institutes to work on soft skills of students (that later came in form of Centre of entrepreneurship and Human development at PUCIT, NAMAL and few more).

As we believe that a sound body has a sound mind so we took great care of health of our interns and played our role keeping them fit. They used to have some outdoor game session on weekends. Birthday parties were also got celebrated throughout program.

On 15th September, 2017 program officially got closed and interns were offered their certificates. 3 Interns qualified to become a part of fashiony technical team that continued their stay at fashiony and are still a part of team, by some means.

On 1st Anniversary of this memorable experience team fashiony wants to say thanks to all interns, trainers and speakers who just made it possible and hope to keep doing such amazing things.
